Lifelong Educator
Jack Hastings brings over 10 years of experience in the Dysart Unified School District, serving as a Civics Teacher, Dean of Students, and School Administrator. He helped add School Resource Officers to Public and Charter schools in Surprise.
Strong Academic Background
Jack earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Arizona State University in 2016 and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Proven Commonsense Leadership
A 3-Term Surprise City Councilman, Jack supports balanced budgets, championed the largest property tax cut in city history, and voted against sales tax and fee increases. He served as Surprise Vice Mayor.
Faith in Christ
Jack is Christian whose faith shapes his values and leadership. He believes public service carries both responsibility to the people he represents and the Lord, grounding his leadership in conviction and integrity.
Rooted in the Community
A Surprise resident for over 20 years, Jack is proud to call Arizona home and remains deeply invested in the future of the West Valley. He is married to his wife Olivia, who he met in Surprise in high school.
